Hello, my name is Ron Struck and this is my story. I have always been interested in woodworking. My father was an avid woodworker. To this day I remember the smell of fresh cut wood from him working in the garage. The neighbors even made jokes that their lights would dim and they knew that my dad was out in the garage doing what he loved to do best.
I started out my woodworking similar to my father. I had my table saw, miter saw, drill press and all of my tools in our garage. However, due to lack of space I would have to move all of the tools out to the driveway to start any project I was working on. Then, when it was time to call it a night I had to put all of the tools back into the garage. This went on for a few years until I decided I was getting tired of moving tools in and out of the garage and decided to build a woodworking shop.
So, in 2018 I built my dream shop. The shop is 600 square feet with 10 foot ceiling. The shop took over a month to build with a lot of help from family and neighbors. My father passed away in 2010 and I am certain that he would of loved seeing my shop. Before he died he gave me his radial arm saw, drill press, scroll saw and band saw knowing that I would continue his love for woodworking. Every time I use one of his tools it brings back memories as a child when he would use them and create that wonderful saw dust smell.
