CUTTING BOARDS

Quality handmade cutting boards made from a variety of hardwood species. Every board is one of a kind. Types of wood may include domestic types such as oak, ash, maple, cherry, hickory, walnut etc. They may also include exotic woods such as padauk, purple heart, wenge, bubinga etc. No two boards are alike and all woods are beautifully arranged to highlight color and figure.

All of the cutting boards are made from high quality hardwoods that are sourced from a local mill. Each piece of rough sawn lumber is hand selected for quality. Construction is completed with FDA approved, food safe glue. Each board has been seasoned with several applications of food-grade mineral oil, then sealed with a blend of food-grade mineral oil bee's wax to protect your board, and prevent the woods from drying. Oiling is recommended to keep your board in its best condition.

Face Grain

Face grain boards truly reveal the natural beauty of the wood grain. They expose the largest surface area of the grain design and display the uniqueness of each wood species. Beautiful, classy and functional

EDGE GRAIN

Edge grain cutting boards are made by gluing the faces of strips of wood so that the edge grain side is now exposed as the cutting surface of the cutting board.

END GRAIN

The end grain cutting board is made from end pieces of wood. It usually comes in a checkerboard pattern, which is the main characteristic you’ll need to be able to recognize that it is indeed an end grain cutting board. While these types of wood cutting board are a bit more expensive, some people deem it worthy, as it is better for the knives. End grain cutting boards have a “self-healing” factor, as the fibers close up after they have been cut by the knife.
