Types of wood may include domestic types such as oak, ash, maple, cherry, hickory, walnut etc. They may also include exotic woods such as Padauk, Purple Heart, Wenge, Bubinga etc. No two cheese slicers are alike and all woods are beautifully arranged to highlight color and figure. All of the cheese slicers are made from high quality hardwoods that are sourced from a local mill. Each piece of rough sawn lumber is hand selected for quality. Construction is completed with FDA approved, food safe glue. Each cheese slicer has been seasoned with several applications of food-grade mineral oil, then sealed with a blend of food-grade mineral oil bee's wax to protect your board, and prevent the woods from drying. Oiling is recommended to keep your cheese slicer in its best condition.
